@stuartfury3390 Having been a MugClub member, that's not entirely true. The way he described his relationship with Blaze was they acted as a payment processor and streaming service. They took a cut of the subscriptions and he got the rest. They did control the email accounts, but he got his own sponsors and as subscriptions increased he was able to hire more people. If it was a straight contract like people are implying, his amount wouldn't have increased. Because they controlled the email accounts he never had a good headcount and even just straight math wouldn't work because he would run discounts a lot and there were military and student discounts. When he announced on MugClub only that he needed the email of all that were subscribed, he was shocked by the number. That initial couple of days would have been almost entirely just them because it hadn't really gone public yet. So you can say it's not "independent" but they provided very little.

@NoQuarterNoMercy1 They would in this contract too. What do you think "in perpetuity" means? Even Jeremy acknowledged that. Just not his old stuff, but anything while under contract would belong to them forever. Which if they decide to keep extending it every 2 years at those terms, he's already agreed to as well (they'll own that too) until they decide to let him go.

@chryssesandchaos Maybe he keeps bringing up "friend" because Jeremy said that over and over and over. If he didn't think that should factor in, he shouldn't have kept using it.

@Primal391 It was a starting point they refused to budge on. Crowder said no and they didn't contact him again for 3 months only to say that's the only offer as in take it or leave it. Crowder told them what he wanted, they offered something Jeremy clearly said they knew he wouldn't take. Crowder said no come back with something else. They go silent, then finally say that's the best we can do after admitting in the reply video it never was. It's a bunch of double speak and contradictions. Then Jeremy saying they decided Crowder wasn't a "team player" which is corpo speak for won't do what we want and keep quiet. I've seen and listened to more than enough contract negotiations from Unions and companies from my father and husband being presidents to know exactly what that means. Them acting like it was all risk for them, when if they get attacked through no fault of Crowder and lose sponsors, it comes out of his pocket. If Matt Walsh gets enough riled up, it comes out of Crowder's pocket, not just Walsh's yet he gets not even a percentage of his subscriptions he brings in. The risk wasn't just Daily Wires contrary to Jeremy's spin.

That's exactly what it's like. Music industry contracts. A large amount in the top of the contract to entice them and then they keep removing bits and pieces of it at the bottom until they're making almost nothing and owe the record label. It's entirely possible that would happen with that offer.
