Helper isn't a servant. Servant is beneath and would be a follower. When you've got a helper on job and you're doing something wrong, do they not help you by correcting you? People saying stuff out of the Bible and completely not understanding it. The man is the head and the woman the neck that turns the head.

@aj.j5833 Of course. You're a team, but the topic is Pearle saying women shouldn't do it.
7
@prague7706 It is. Having a career over a husband and family is very much feminist.
7
Letting them know when they're slipping off the path isn't "policing" them. It's informing them. All these men saying stuff like this without even thinking is hilarious. Other men aren't in the home to know.
6
None of that was in that Tweet. Yes, married women should tell their husband when they're wrong. Are other men inside their house seeing what he's doing? No. Please tell me where all these men are today that would even get involved? People are attacked in front of crowds and people just record. Nobody steps in to help. Edit: Before one of you goes "it's the world they created" or some other crap, that doesn't change reality.
6
What exactly do you think pre 1900s women were like? They made money selling things they made, they worked a long side their husbands in the field, they went to social gatherings at least a couple of times a week (knitting or quilting circles with only other women were very common as were picnics), their husband's often asked their opinions (behind every good man is a good woman), etc.
6
She attacks us. That's her entire thing. Are we not allowed to defend ourselves. That was a really dumb comment.
6
Yes. As a woman that's been married 26 years it's very frustrating. Someone that's never been in a relationship much less married has no business trying to tell anyone how to be.
4
That's not what the comment said. It's not coming from women outside the marriage. It's coming from the spouse. Yes, your spouse should correct you. Man or woman. It's a partnership. It's 100% and 100%. Edit: The Bible clearly says women teach other women and children. Men teach other men. So no, men don't teach women.
3
No. The Bible clearly states women are supposed to keep their husband's on the path and if they're not already a child of God, lead them to Him.

While watching videos and commenting on social media.

@MrJevman She's from a very wealthy family. She's just attention seeking.
2
@nickdial8528 Nope. The Bible says women should lead their husband to God and help keep him on the path. Jesus! Nobody reads it!
2
@nickdial8528 It is correct. A nurse practioner knew exactly what I had while my male doctor dismissed it. He finally did some tests and she was 100% correct. She knew just from my face. Probably because it's a disease that mostly effects women.
2
@Patriot-od6xk If the divorce rate is 50%, which it's really not, then how is it only 1%?
2
My family did. I got married at 25. My grandfather called my hope chest, something women collect things in preparing for a husband and children, my hopeless chest. They didn't think I'd ever get married. Our fertility drops before 30. 35 is when it starts to get dangerous with lots of complications.
2
That's not the topic. Pearl made a statement which is the topic. I'm not sure why so many men are trying to deflect everything back onto them. Women correcting their husband is the topic.
1
If the man doesn't want to "listen to them", then why did he marry her? Trust her to raise his children? No where in the Bible does it tell a man he should ignore his wife. The opposite in fact. It's why the first early followers were mostly women.
1
Lauren doesn't have an OF. So now women aren't supposed to be social? We're supposed to never talk to anyone but our husband? That's never ever been true except in Islam. That's not Christianity.
1
English. Try it.
1
You can. People just don't realize it. Most of what the woman makes goes to childcare. I know because I did it. We struggled and did without a lot, especially shiny new electronics, but it's absolutely doable.
1
The Tweet didn't exist. It's just a figment of everyone's imagination. That's you. Man a whole lot sad men white knighting Pearl in these comments while calling Tim one.
1
She's not attractive. She's an activist and tells other people how to live while not living that way herself. That's called hypocrisy. Ya'll claim she's conservative while a conservative woman only advocates for her children. Everything else publicly, which activism is, is done by the man.
1
That's talking about in the Church. Timothy chapter 2 is about the layout of the Church. Not the home. How about reading more than just a single verse taken out if context. Paul says women should teach other women and children. As a helper, we are to support our husbands physically AND spiritually.
1
Untrue. It says you should keep each other accountable. Seriously, nobody has actually read the Bible and it's clear by these comments.
1
No they shouldn't. Women should be the social pressure for other women. That's been true throughout all of civilization. How exactly is a man going extract social pressure on a woman? Socially, not politically, has always been controlled by women. That's why in the Bible women teach other women and children and men teach other men. Have any of ya'll ever even read it?
1
@jtjames79 How is she going through hell? You teach by example.
1
To all the men white knighting Pearl in the comments and bashing Tim for talking about anything when he isn't married or have kids, then why are you listening to a woman that's never even been in a relationship? If Tim can't say anything because he's not experienced it, then the same apllies to Pearl. Why should any woman listen to one that has no idea what anything she's talking about is like? Edit: I've been married 26 years in a traditional marriage. Why would I ever listen to a spinster that can't even get a man, much less hold onto one?
1
Who brings it to the elders? They don't read minds. Someone has to tell them there's a problem. It's usually their wives who talked to the wife.
1
No they don't. Christianity doesn't say women should never talk to her husband. In fact the New Testament says it's her job to keep him from straying from God and bring him to God if he isn't.
1
It is allowed. It's not unusual that they hear about from their own wives who the woman confided in. There's nobody else IN the home to see how he's acting.
1
Unmarried, dresses like a man, doesn't have children, doesn't care about her appearance, etc? That's NOT a proper woman. A woman is a reflection of her husband or father in public and their ability to provide.
