  1. That's because that's when puberty starts. Before then, kids don't think about those things outside of generalizations. If a child is showing signs of sexuality before puberty, that's a red flag that they have been sexually abused.

  2. They can threaten all they like. This is well established by the Supreme Court. The courts have affirmed parental rights in medical issues. The court won't strike down laws recognizing and affirming them. The Feds are looking for yet another smackdown by the court. Even the liberal court wouldn't allow Obama to withhold federal funding if states didn't build trans bathrooms in schools.
