@lukelewis9165 If it was "killing communities" the lawsuits would be advertised because they'd be class action ones and activists would be screaming everywhere. I did a quick search. The only studies are about the impact to climate change and emissions from the increased trucks and equipment. There are ones about the small earthquakes that result from it, but none have caused any actual damage. The only "killing" I could find was a claim of 20 people. Hardly "killing communities". That you are attempting to blame an entire industry for the illegal actions of one company shows it's an ideological argument rather than a fact based one.

Interest rates should have increased long before now. It offsets inflation. Their failure to raise them has contributed to the rising inflation rate. It's all proportional. Just hope they don't hit the almost 19% they were in the 80s. That's what had to be done last time inflation and stagflation happened to this degree. It's to intentionally cause a recession to reset the economy. It's short, only 2 years, but it's a rough couple of years. The one plus is we had a huge boom right before this so that should make it not as horrible if people were simi smart before it reached this point. The worst part is expect a farming crisis as a result. Small family owned farms aren't likely to make it through this. They didn't last time. Edit: Preparing for this is one of the reasons the housing market has been like it is. A longterm investment for your money was the smart move to make if you understood what was happening. The car market too because you're money is tied up for 5-6 years before you have to deal with high interest rates.
