@Sellot91 They still can use all the contraceptives they want. The morning after pill, which inhibits implantation, isn't a problem for 99% either. They can still have all the sex they want. That's "reproductive rights". Being exempt from the consequences of your actions isn't a "right". Reproduction has already occurred according to biology at that point. Then there's the issue of equality under the law. The man is legally held responsible if his actions result in a baby yet you believe the woman should be held to a different standard. So it's fine for there to be different laws over different groups?

@sleepisthecousinofdeath7395 If outlawing on demand abortion is authoritarianism then you're against all laws right? Every law is holding someone to someone else's morality and judgment. There are people that don't believe it's wrong to murder, r@pe, steal, etc. The truth is it's authoritarian because it's something you don't personally agree with. Viability will be a constantly moving time frame as medical technology improves which is why some are trying to explain to you that's an arbitrary limit to base a law on. For example a baby born within the 6th month until the last couple of decades was more likely to survive than one born at a certain point in the 7th month due to a critical stage of lung development. So "viability" would be 6 months, but not 7 months. Then there's the problem with setting it as the point the baby no longer requires the mother's body to live because it requires the mother's milk to live once outside the womb meaning it's still not "viable". Technically a child isn't viable until at least 7 or 8 years old because it requires assistance to perform simple tasks like acquiring food. Like it or not, this reduction in the belief of the sanctity of life has been a major factor in why we have the problem with murders and violence today.

@zamba136 What does choosing to adopt a child have to do with aborting your baby? You're attempting to conflate two separate things because someone said it's your own DNA. Instead of staying on topic you went off on adoption and people not caring for adopted children because it's not their DNA. That sounds like a you thing and completely irrelevant to the topic of a baby in womb being equated with being hooked up to a stranger to keep them alive.

I saw an article about a woman in Tennessee "forced" to give birth to a still born baby. It's gross fear porn because that's always been the case. When a child dies in the womb, it's best to wait and let the body take it's natural course rather than a surgical intervention. Surgery should be once the body doesn't perform correctly. It's like saying you should have your kidney removed because there's a stone in it.

That Medicaid part won't hold water. Medicaid is partially funded by the state so the federal government can't force the state to pay for it. Plus it can't be used except in cases of force, incest, or life of mother thanks to the Hyde Act which Democrats want to get rid of. It's literal pandering because most people don't understand that.
