It's horrible. The Union writes the books and we just have to nod along. If we attempt to claim what you said, we're racist and KKK members. My state didn't even have hardly any slaves, but somehow that's why we fought.

Congress already decided a few years ago it was too complicated to give them to us. We wouldn't accept it either without the return of some sacred sites. It is what it is.

I seriously can't stand him, but he has my respect recently. Maybe not my vote yet, but I can just skip him on the ballot.

Question. Since I'm mixed race, my family fought on both sides of the war, and nobody ever owned slaves do I pay reparations? If yes, do I just pay myself?

We do. The good ones are Yankees. The rude ones are damned Yankees.

Those are on private property so no. They can be charged and sued if they do that. Could you imagine the value one of those statues have? Nice payday.

That's a Native take. Honoring our ancestors and all that. The warrior thing too. They don't seem to have that in their culture.

I'm confused. There has been civil equality for over 60 years now. There all no laws that oppress anyone, however there are several that list some as protected. When were you denied your rights as defined by the Constitution? If you had, you should have sued which is how this is settled for any citizen no matter race. You may have an issue with a policy by your local government, but that's not what you're saying. You can vote, go to school, work, go anywhere, do anything that's legal, etc. What rights are you denied that other citizens have? Name one.

I don't know why they'd target the Almo. It withstood an army. I don't think Antifa would have a shot.

Michael RedCrow The Union slave holders got reimbursed by the government when they were forced to free them.

Oh dear Lord. Kinda off topic, but when we go to Vancouver (husband is from there) we play spot the black person. We're terrible people. It's just very weird to and my boys to see so few.

There's one at our county courthouse. They were going to remove it, but someone did some research and said it was paid for by the daughter's of the Confederacy and sat on their soil and it's on the historical registry since it's 108 years old. It's a soldier with the names of those that died in the county during the war. Now they are having to do some legal research because they may not be able to move it. Getting interesting in my little town.

They were never promised that. It was a plan for a few freed slaves to live on a former plantation and work the land. After 10 years they would have the option to purchase the land or not. Land not purchased was to return to the original land owner. The amount was based on family size with it being up to 40 acres.
