Gen X was the least supervised generation ever. Yet we work fine. Try again.

Welcome to real life. Every generation had to do the same when starting out, which you are. My husband had 3 roommates and they still struggled. That was when he was 24 and 25. Only people that manage to do really well, have an in somewhere, or are lucky buy homes in their 20s. We were in our 30s when we bought our first home. My grandfather was in his mid 30s when he built his house. Him, my grandmother, and my mom rented company housing until then that didn't even have in door plumbing. My parents never owned their own home. Then in 2008 a lot of my generation lost their houses and had to start over.

No. They're adults. They went through years of college without a parent. Did their parents not work? Of course they did. There's the child's example of work ethic. Gen X didn't have parents around. We're a feral generation. We didn't have these problems. We don't overwork and leave work at work, but we work. Children learn best by example. Edit: The problem is poor communication and being unprofessional. That you learn from experience. Even if the parents taught them to be professional, we've all seen the before and after of going to college.

@DEMON0326 Was in the employment contract? Did you ask or just expect everything handed to you?

No. They said millennials preferred email and other means of communication so businesses accommodated it. You can't accommodate not being able to apply what they learned.

@JF-cd5hc The government doesn't give it to you. They pay their debts. The government doesn't run the company you work for. That's got to be the dumbest excuse I've seen yet.

You learn by watching and asking things like "Why did you do that then?" You don't know what you don't know and they don't know what you don't know. Just saying you don't know isn't helpful to anyone. Saying I don't know isn't being proactive. Following trainers around, asking why they're doing what they're doing so they explain it is.

Both of mine are good workers. They weren't raised on a farm. They had to do chores to earn money though instead of being given an allowance for being there. Neither went to college.

Gen X lost their houses in 2008. Most Millennials didn't have one yet. Homeownership is always the lowest in 20 year olds and increases with age. My Boomer parents never could afford a house. My grandfather rented a company house until he bought a plot and built his house by himself in his mid 30s. You're not different. You're not special.

Why would a 20 year old be planning to retire soon? Inflation is the highest it's been in 40 years. Does no one understand that means it was worse 40 years ago? Life is struggle. There are ups and downs. If the first down you face is enough for you to give up, you deserve the future that brings you.

It depends on the job, but there's a proper way to do things in most. In manufacturing or other such jobs there's safety concerns if you don't follow proper protocols. You refusing to do that is a huge problem. The point of watching the boss or training is so you don't make mistakes. In some places a mistake means people get hurt or worse. So no "learning from mistakes" isn't an option. You're telling on yourself and think you're in the right.
