@sthubbins4038 Incredibly leading question which assumes a lot. The first assumption is that everyone knows every person elected into every office. I don't know what Republicans have been elected as a Mayor or city council member in every tiny town across the country. Heck it could be a position even smaller like dog catcher. Same for Democrats. The second assumption is that your definition of "far right" is everyone else's. Also very doubtful. As Tim just explained in the video you didn't watch, it depends on if you mean economically, socially, culturally, etc. Basically you're tossing out a question trying to act intelligent when you're just a troll and kiddie diddler.

Not really. Each party used to contain a mix. The Republican party, for example, would contain centrists, right wing, and those that lean slightly left. They haven't really changed in that regard. The Democrats used to contain centrists, left wing, and those that lean slightly right. They have removed all right leaning and most centrists at this point. The Republicans were the first to have a member of Congress come out as gay. They were the first in a lot of things Democrats wish they could claim. Republicans have always been the more tolerant of new ideas. The only reason that the public view of them changed was because Reagan made courting the Evangelicals a primary mission of the Republican party and Democrats seized on that. Even though the Democratic party contained them as well and also courted them, just not as hard as Republicans.
