From the Red scare to WWII there are lots of times we have imprisoned people for anti war speech and for saying anything positive about the opposition. Tim: We're only helping Ukraine because of oil Partly false. We sighed an agreement to protect Ukraine after the fall of the USSR for them giving the Russian nukes that were stored in that region back to Russia. It's very similar to the agreement we have with Japan and Taiwan. What would the message to those countries be if we reneged on that agreement with Ukraine right now? I took issue that we didn't honor that agreement during Crimea. Now more than ever it's important that we show China we are willing and able to fulfill our end of these agreements. What's going on in Ukraine isn't just about Ukraine. It's sending a message that these types of actions won't be tolerated to China. This is the problem when you view everything from a single issue lens. You miss the bigger picture and the message that other countries take away from it.
