A lunch break is required by federal law. They could face heavy fines. See this is a prime example of the some of the problems. People aren’t aware of labor laws.

@B.L.S. It’s federal law. That’s why it’s “forced”. It’s illegal for them to not do it. Y’all seriously in this thread talking about undoing the protections workers literally died to get you.

@TheJrl420 No mid or high cost of living state has a $10 minimum wage. Even Arkansas is close to $15 and it’s one of the lowest costs of living.

@DB-rp2gj It’s federal labor law. It’s illegal to work more than so many hours without at least a 30 minute lunch break. My grandfather, father, and husband were all Union Presidents. I’m pretty well versed in labor law.

@RockBrentwood That’s not a violation of the ADA. You’re not disabled. God this is why we don’t like you. The ADA is for recognized DISEASES or birth DEFECTS that make it impossible or extremely difficult to work and even perform everyday tasks. I’m disabled. I’m diagnosed with 4 autoimmune diseases plus I have spinabifida. The ADA is so I can work limited hours and still receive benefits. I won’t be paid for more hours than I work either. Edit: Don’t like when your lunch is don’t take the job. You’re not the only person that works there. Lunch is usually done in shifts, just like school, to maintain a level of productivity. It’s so other people are working when someone else is gone.
