It wasn't a maiden voyage I don't think. He's been doing it since 2010. Though this might be the first to try to go that deep.

@strelok5661 You sign waivers for everything. Even amusement park tickets have a waiver attached to the purchase. So I guess if a ride breaks and kills you everyone can just go "well they signed a waiver so it was their own fault".

It wasn't the first time it was used and previous tourist complained it was constantly losing contact. So given it's history just losing contact wasn't an immediate "oh shit!". I think this was the first time it went that deep though.
