@sgtpom If you see things like canned beans, chicken, cereal, most snacks, soft drinks, etc increase it's not the tariffs. Those things are made 100% in the US. Since Walmart is announcing it, I have 2 other grocery stores in my town plus local farmers.

I'll simply stop buying out of season vegetables like I did before they were available year round. People don't even know not that long ago you couldn't even buy stuff that wasn't in season.

@voicefromthedark-t2w How do we not have the transportation? We have trains that run regularly, trucks constantly going across the country, etc. Most things you can find made in the US except some computer components and some clothing. It's not global either so instead of buying clothes made in China you buy made in Vietnam. Most of our food is produced here except some seafood and out of season vegetables.

Gas is already down where I am. As for the rest, yes. It's similar to when Reagan had to fix the economy. We were aware it would be a couple of years of pain but then a quick improvement. Food wise, not that much is imported so I don't know why people are freaking out that food prices will increase

Walmart buys most of their food from the US. It's only out of season stuff and bananas that are imported. Some seafood, but it's not from the countries the tariffs are going on.

I order my pet stuff from Chewy and buy toilet paper at Costco once every couple of months. I've already been avoiding Walmart.

I see people freaking out and it's hilarious. It's not global. It's only certain countries. Only out of season produce and avocados come from Mexico and Canada. They're already way more expensive than when it's in season.

@voicefromthedark-t2w 25% of products sold in Walmart are made in America. So how is it 99%? Most of the food is grown in America. If it's not, there's a sticker that tells you where it's from. The only things imported is some seafood and out of season vegetables fresh food wise.

A lot are imported from Mexico in the off season. The avocado trade is run by cartels.

@JoyPeace-ej2uv Yes they can. People plant them all the time. Just because there's no huge banana farm doesn't mean they're impossible to grow.

Avocados are run by the cartels. I don't buy them for that reason. We get out of season stuff imported like tomatoes from Mexico and Canadian hot houses. They're pretty trash honestly, but when we cook hamburgers I gotta have a slice.
