He's accused of grooming underaged girls. Not been convicted or even charged with anything either. He's a creep for sure, but he didn't violate the ToS so they demonatized him for things he might have done off YouTube. I don't like him at all, but this sets a bad precedent for other creators.

The people that create content on this platform allows YouTube to be paid by advertising. It's like saying a restaurant doesn't have to pay it's wait staff or chef. This isn't a message board or something. It's people's jobs. People getting booted off for things not related to the ToS means YouTube broke their contract with that person, but because they are protected by the government you can't get legal recourse like you normally would. It's business law and contract law that this company is protected from because 230 doesn't allow for it to be sued. You can't even compare it to Twitter because Twitter doesn't offer compensation for posting on it. So trying to claim you aren't protected by the first amendment isn't even truly the underlying issue.

That's one of my issues with this. That and they did it to make Hansen's documentary look successful in punishing him.

@kuuryotwo5153 When they use the "It'S a PrIvAtE bUsInEsS" just counter with businesses that are heavily regulated like oil, gas, pharmaceutical, food, fertilizer, etc. If it's traded on Wallstreet it's also a public company and not really private.
