Seriously? I missed that one. I stopped caring before he went after anime and gamers.

She talked about listening to her father. Family. Isn't that a good thing? A young woman listening to her father instead of yelling he's a man so oppressing her?
5
@noneyabizz8337 Conservative in the US doesn't mean the same as Europe. You're conserving the founding ideas of the country. We were never anything except a liberal principle country and government, so there's no other type to conserve.
3
Exactly! I responded to another post these "Christians" wouldn't follow Jesus if he was around today because of who he associated with.
2
Fortunately Matt Walsh has zero political power within the party to make those decisions.
2
Seriously. All these Christians freaking out and I'm asking how Trump could be allowed to speak under their standards.
2
Why would you think only Christians want those things? That's what this comes down to. They're talking about their soul like it's someone else's responsibility.
1
Then you shouldn't be supporting the leader of it since he appears to like them. A lot.
1
@Bigfoothawk Jesus hung around them. I don't think they're who needs to grow up.
1
How? No more money to Ukraine, no more printing money, making others engage in fair trade, reduce regulations so businesses can flourish, etc. All of those are economic and financial policies and conservative.
1
It also has zero reflection on you. It seems a lot of "Christians" today wouldn't follow Him if He was here today. He hung around the worst people and He'd be condemned by them for associating with them.
1
Why does what I do somehow affect your soul? Are you so weak in your faith that you can't even be around a sinner? You would reject Jesus if He was here today because that's who He associated with. A lot of Christians that don't know Christ in these comments. Edit: Proof you'll lose? Look at McConnell, Bush, etc. That's the party you'd have. Neocons who sell this country to the highest bidder, start wars to pay off their donors, send billions to countries that hate us, etc. That's what centering it around the Christian right got us.
1
Since when is someone else's soul mine or a political party's responsibility? That's their responsibility. Reagan never should have centered the party around the Christian right in the 80s. I'm a Christian. This is ridiculous. Christ's kingdom will not be on Earth but in Heaven. My body and wealth belongs to the government and country. My soul belongs to God..
1
I do not insist every person share everyone of my values or principles. We're not collectivists. We're individuals. How does someone speaking somewhere change MY values and principles? The principles of the Republican party is supposed to be small government, promote the family (which she did), and preserving the Constitution. If someone speaking at a convention affects your values, how can you even listen to Trump?
1
Good luck. I'm out then, and I'm a Christian. I go to church for my soul, not a political party. If you do, you need to do some serious self examination and read your Bible because Jesus separates the two and I follow Him and His example.
1
Bam!
1
Yes it does. Conservatism is preserving the Constitution. The rights and limitations it contains. Republicans appoint constationalist judges to the Supreme Court. Not judges that put their religion above the law. They are all conservatives though. Perhaps it's you who doesn't understand it.
1
Right wing populism. Left wing is socialism. Right wing is a rejection of the elite.
1
Then Trump shouldn't either if you're holding everyone to the same standards.
1
@joshuakhaos4451 I'm a Christian and don't only think about other Christians. That's not what is commanded of us. Then again I never considered myself "conservative" because I grew up in the 80s and they were horrible. It's why they couldn't maintain power after defeating the Democrats to the point they thought they'd never win again. My religious beliefs only influence my personal beliefs. Not my political ones. They are shaped by the Constitution. Which Jesus actually even talks about. He separates your soul from your what your government requires. " Follow the laws of the land."
1
@PurringBluzzmuffin That's identity politics. So is insisting everyone be exactly like you. It's legal. Protected by the Constitution according to the courts as free expression. I hate to tell you, everything but a couple of those are already in the party and have been. Edit: You: I hate identity politics! No! They can't be in the party! They aren't part of my group!
1
Because there is more than 1 religion. JD Vance's wife is Indian.
1
@BlackamusJones Republicans had the first openly gay member of Congress. They had most firsts. It's not about Christian morals. It's about the Constitution. The freedoms it guarantees and the limits it places on government being followed. Edit: Reagan centered the party around Christian conservatives. It was a mistake and now it's going back. Cry harder. Every party normally has a left, center, and right. The Republicans had left leaning, center, and right. The Democrats had left, center, and right leaning. It's only recently the left pushed everyone not left out and kept pushing. Pushing everyone not all the way right will end exactly how they are.
1
How is trying to make other people responsible for your soul not also spineless? Pretty sure you're responsible to God. He's not going to judge you based on what your neighbor did.
1
Reagan centered the party around the Christian right in the 80s. It wasn't like that before. They're going back to being like everyone else in the party and crying about losing power.
1
So? I assume you were watching then, but she's a problem?
1
Wrong. Show me where in the Bible it says my beliefs effect your soul. I'm certain it says His kingdom isn't on Earth, but in Heaven. I'm pretty sure the Constitution says freedom of religion, which means not just Christian. Why would we need 2 parties that don't follow the Constitution? Edit: All ya'll seriously don't know the history of the party you claim to be a part of. The first openly gay member of Congress was a Republican.
1
Bet. I'm pro-choice. Now tell me my stance on everything else.
1
@loganwilcox4037 Pro 2 A of course. Love my Constitution. The rest 100% incorrect. I would never personally have one because I see it as wrong. However, it's up to God to judge someone else's choices. I'm a trad wife. 100% traditional gender family roles and mixed race. Edit: My choices are between me, my family, and God and don't involve anyone else. I think that's 90% of the problem. Wanting everyone else involved in knowing your personal choices. Then expecting them to agree with them.
1
That was funny. They ran as a Republican to make a point. People vote for the letter by the name with zero knowledge about the person.
1
No. Pushing your values onto everyone else is why. It's why they lost power. It's exactly this kind of judgemental crap that has nothing to do with political beliefs that always causes Republicans to fail. If you have an issue with her, how can you support and vote Trump?
1
Oh I like that. Hobbits are just the hard working people that want to be left alone.
1
@PurringBluzzmuffin His audience size wouldn't say they're unpopular. Don't confuse a loud minority with the majority.
1
Technically they didn't lose the vote. The other side made radical coalitions to retain power. Since we're only 2 parties, that can't happen here. It's why I've been against multiple parties and a more European system forever.
