  1. Oh! I'll look that up. We've got some extremely cold temps coming this weekend and everyone will be off. I already said I'm doing the ultimate cold weather comfort lunch of tomato soup and grilled cheese (homemade soup of course). Some homemade hot cocoa would be great for the evening.

  2. I had to cook. It's that simple. We didn't have money to buy ready made crap so if I wanted to eat I had to learn to cook it. There wasn't anywhere near as available then as there is now. You had Swanson frozen TV dinners and that was about it or hamburger helper. Did I burn stuff? Yep and I still do very rarely. It happens. I can also cook pretty much anything. From really down home simple Depression recipes to extremely difficult French recipes that are technique heavy.

  3. 6 months and already up to chicken a la king? Not bad! The timing comes with practice. Make sides that can sit in a pot and quickly reheat or keep put the main dish in the oven on warm while you finish up the sides.

  4. Always allow for extra time the very first time you make something and the prep time on recipes is always way shorter than it really takes. I do know a guy who's wife couldn't cook when they got married and she did try. It was just bad. So I'd send him a meal when he was at work with my hubby so he'd get some decent food. She couldn't even make chicken and spaghetti which is one of the easiest things to make. It base recipe is like 5 things.
