  2. Nothing like that. Foreign companies have never had the right to operate freely in the U.S. Many companies have been denied approval. This one just had it and is now having it removed. Edit: This is why foreign entertainment, for example, has to be distributed by a U.S. owned distributor. Somebody has to be held responsible if it violates rules and regulations.

  3. It’s not a US company so doesn’t enjoy the protections of the first amendment. If any U.S. company was caught spying for a foreign government the owners would be tried in court for espionage. You can’t do that with a foreign company because the owners will never be extradited. Instead the company is shutdown.

  5. It’s not a ban. It’s forcing China to divest from it. It has to be owned and controlled by a U.S. company. They’re sending information to the CCP spying. That’s illegal. Because it’s not a U.S. company they can’t be held accountable. China isn’t going to send the owners to face charges. If a US company owned it they can be charged and held responsible.

  9. They are US companies. This is a Chinese company. Do you feel the same about states banning Chinese citizens from owning land or running a company in their state? It’s the same thing. It can be purchased by a U.S. company but it’s cutting China out of ownership of it.
