⁠ @BigRichfrank You call it “well fare pay” and then claim you’re not talking bad about them. It’s not welfare because they performed a service, ie labor, and received compensation. Welfare doesn’t require you to do anything in compensation. That’s why it’s called an entitlement. The other is just called pay.

You were good until that last part. That’s like people saying if you tax the rich it would pay for free healthcare. You being 70 also creates a huge bias. They “have to eat dog food” (it’s usually cat food but whatever) because of circumstances beyond SS. They qualify for welfare and food stamps just like that mother you’re complaining about. The difference is the elderly person owns a house and has zero dependents. So yeah sorry she absolutely should get more or do you not understand more people in the home, children in this case, means you require more resources? So you’d rather children go hungry? Upon closer examination you weren’t doing good at all.
