  7. Nobody is complaining because he doesn’t play. The complaint was saying to just stop playing and give the largest entertainment industry over. He got called out on that bad take and attacked gamers. Then his booking guy or something went completely off the deep end.

  8. Because he’s telling the people that watch to give up. I don’t understand why that’s so hard. They talk about culture and tell people to give up the biggest portion of it. They also said they were doing news when what was said was incorrect. It’s odd that just because they get something’s right you can’t criticize when they misreport and misrepresent. You’re basically saying because of what side they’re on you shouldn’t hold them to the same standard as any other Mainstream news. Which they are.

  9. So is reading a good book, writing, painting, visiting art museums, watching movies, etc. It’s called leisure time and it’s a wonderful product of our increased technology and productivity. There’s nothing wrong with “wasting” time. Edit: It’s funny. Even ancient civilizations understood the need for it. It’s why games were created and things like plays and gladiators were a thing. Now we’re being told it’s bad and destructive.

  10. I don’t believe that in the slightest. It’s funny because the majority of them aren’t even on social media or public in anyway, shape, or form. Thousands maybe millions of wealthy people and only a handful condemns the bunch. I mean just take football. All those players are rich. Out of the hundreds of them only maybe 10 speak publicly about issues.

  15. Not all that. Just a stay at home wife now since my kids are grown. Me and hubby have been gaming since Arcades and Pong. We’ve even been hardcore in raiding guilds with small children. I had my kids playing educational but fun games since they were very small. Just like I played a multiplication asteroid game to help improve my skill. This was a seriously uneducated ignorant take from him.

  16. Same for the most part, but I’m a 90s “liberal” which means right wing in 2024. It’s really weird. Having been through the one in the 80s and 90s I’m very aware that the exact same propensities exist on the right.

  18. I’m glad me and hubby met through gaming. Never needed to explain it or convince. Doctor Who was another matter but he got into it after I was watching a marathon while he was gaming in the same room.

  23. You do know that happened before games existed right? Men would spend all weekend in the garage working on cars, golfing, bowling, etc. Also maybe don’t put your issues onto everyone else that enjoys something. That’s called projection.

  24. Gen X here. Nope. A lot of us were and still are gamers. There are many in these comments saying “I’m 50 and still game”. We were the most libertarian generation and we fought against the right doing this same crap to games, music, and movies in the 80s and 90s. They were the ones protesting the exact same things then. We won so we’re not the group you want to disparage.
