This comment section makes me sad for humanity. That so many are so quick to just dismiss horrors done to a child is disturbing. It takes years because they go through horrible anxiety and suffer from PTSD. Do you ask a soldier why he doesn't talk about his experience during a war? They've been groomed to believe no one will believe them, that people will blame them, and here are far too many doing exactly that. Judging by the emails, they have talked to people about it and have been vocal about it. They just weren't able to file charges until now for legal reasons.

@CynHicks All of those restrictions on people convicted of this particular crime is because there's a very high reoffending rate. Add in that most victims never come forward. It comes down to one life ruined or up to hundreds.
