@sophiaisstillagoodunit6626 Mysteries aren't supposed to leave out key facts. They are supposed to slowly feed them out. Too much too soon and everyone knows. Not enough and it's boring and unfulfilling. The whole "subverting expectations" twist doesn't belong in mysteries. It's because, even if the watcher/reader misses them, subtle clues are still there. Thrillers are fine with weird twists all over and are expected. That's what creates the thrill part. I'm just seeing a bunch of people that don't understand the difference between the two genres acting like they do. I enjoy both as well as fantasy. Maybe it's the difference between the audience that reads and the audience that gets bored too easy and only watches movies.
