One of? Sure. It happened before during the Spanish flu. Studies shortly before this all happened showed most didn't die from it, but from lung infections caused by wearing dirty masks. So they instituted policies that they knew would result in more deaths. The jab thing occurred in the I think the 60s. A strain was supposed to hit that was going to have a high death toll. The government tried to mandate a jab but the strain never materialized. It caused massive distrust in medical professionals and the government, but they still did it again. Edit: China just created a brain one that they got to infect humanized mice. 100% fatality rate. The funding and creation of these things hasn't stopped.

I know what happened. Everyone listened to China and their "expertise" instead of listening to their own scientists. Every single study they linked to was from China. I personally thought that was crazy because China was motivated to lie. It felt like trusting the USSR would have in the 80s. The studies they'd link to as justification were crazy too. So many variables unaccounted for. Most of them were based on the number of cases before and after a restriction was put in place. They didn't take into account if it was even being followed. Probably because the population not following the orders of the government is foreign to them. They didn't account for the natural curve that occurs in infection rates (a spike followed by rapid decline) and couldn't isolate which restriction had any effect because they were all implemented at once so instead the studies picked whichever restriction they wanted and concluded it was the cause of the decline.

@bigj9942 So they told you none of it was scientific? They did social distancing too. Masks don't work according to recent studies and every single study when it comes to the flu, but they were magically supposed to work with this one. You're acting like they didn't say "to stop the spread" as the reason but none of it was backed by science.

We've always had experts. That's not a problem. The problem occurs when experts silence other experts because they don't agree. Then it ceases to be science and becomes THE science. If anyone ever says "it's settled" when it comes to science, they aren't behaving as a scientist anymore because science is never "settled" because it's limited by our current understanding and technology. A single new finding can turn everything we know and understand on its head in an instant.

Some people always wore them because they're on certain medication or have certain diseases. There are people this whole fiasco turned into full on raging germaphobes though.
