Honestly this is them thinking they understand something they clearly don't. I'd put money that the small group within the tribe that is against the pipeline contacted them and told them a sob story. They can't put anything on tribal lands in either country without permission from the tribal leaders. So these activists contact someone they have an in with in Hollywood. These celebrities get a letter. They think "Oh no! These countries are doing things to hurt the Natives because they are helpless and the government doesn't let them control their own lands" which is not even remotely true. Edit: They need to remember the last time they made a stink about stuff like this they started a giant protest that did massive damage to the land. The tribe had to ask the government to come remove the protesters.
