@incogcheeto9322 John is exactly right. When they got AT&T other long distance services existed. AT&T stifled them because they came first so controlled the market. It's not a matter of other options, it's when one company has zero competition for awhile. That allows them the ability to stifle any future competition because they already control everything. Same with Microsoft. Other platforms existed, but only Microsoft had their search engine on all new computers thus stifling any independent engine. I was alive for both those cases and I'm honestly surprised it took this long.

@DudeCommando Maybe, maybe not; but it is the equivalent of AT&T listening to your phone call and disconnecting you because they don't like what you're saying. Or someone putting a gag in your mouth on a public square because they don't like it.
