That's exactly how evolution works. Over multiple generations of a new environment, the species will have adaptations that conform to that new environment. If a bird's beak grows longer to get to food that's deeper than its previous environment, our hands would evolve to better do the actions they repeatedly do. Edit: Carpal tunnel is an extremely good example of this. That injury kept occurring. Now, in newer generations we're finding that tendon no longer being created in many. The body is adapting to correct the problem. We needed it when we would climb trees and stuff. We no longer do that and in today's environment it gets damaged. So it's being removed.

@JadeRunner Adaptations don't happen that quickly. Using phones in this way has only been happening for less than a single generation. It take multiple generations of continuous action for changes to occur. Did none of you take biology? Typing like we do now started in the late 1800s-early 1900s. It causes carpal tunnel syndrome. Starting with Millennials, that tendon began to disappear and it's uncommon in Gen Z and Alpha generations. So that gives you an idea of how long it takes for those changes to occur. Edit: The downside to losing it is that those generations won't be able to perform pullups like previous ones could because that's it's function.
