Tolkien was already for everyone. That's why it's been translated into so many languages. Otherwise it would only be in English.

Not the "first look at Tolkien's 'Second Age'". Jackson did it in the first movie and flashbacks. Just like she isn't the "first female Dwarf" because Willow and they were in the Hobbit. Edit: Nobody complained about "diversity" in the original movies because that's not in the lore. As for gender, I guess they missed Eowyn killed the big baddie on the battlefield, Galadriel was shown to be the most powerful Elf, and Awyen followed her heart knowing it will bring her great pain.

He said 2 years ago if this was the way Amazon went with LotR he'd devote his entire channel to its destruction.

I was around the internet then and the conversation when Jackson got the rights. Nobody said a word about that because it's a mythology for Britain who's native population is huwhite.

@TheDanteJamesShow It's in every interview and from ComiCon.

There's limits. There were issues with Jackson's LotR, the Hobbit was a travesty, but this is just fan fiction. The Queen is completely wrong and had no real power because her throne was usurped by her husband/cousin. I don't even want to get into how they've completely ruined Galadriel and her true power. The dialog is hilarious.

@timonsolus The problem with that is that the Shire wasn't important outside of to the Hobbits. Galadriel gave Sam his gift because she knew he would need it later to regrow the Shire. The other kingdoms were the only ones that stood a chance against Sauron. If they failed, the Shire would have been gone forever anyway. Edit: I also disagree on leaving Tom out. He gave Merry the sword. Without that sword, the spell wouldn't have been broken and Eowyn wouldn't have been able to deliver the final blow. In the movie the sword had no significance unlike in the book. Not everything revolved only around the ring. They encountered many that didn't know anything about it and it didn't call to.

@DragoEpyon Fortunately the fandom isn't just pointing to the diversity but to the lore that they aren't following. Like the female Dwarves should have beards, Galadriel never battled in Middle Earth, where is Celeborn her husband (he's dead for some reason even though he shouldn't be), Harfoots are a type of Hobbit and weren't in the 2nd Age (Gollum was described as an early type of Hobbit if they really wanted to include them and he wasn't a Harfoot but Sam is), Sauron avoided Galadriel because she has foresight and can see his true self and would recognize him, etc. So so much broken lore.

Do you think the middle class has the $1 billion to pay for this crap? That's how much this show cost. Bezos isn't the middle class.

It wasn't just race. It was the different kingdoms too. They hadn't been around each other much since the start of the 3rd Age. The Dwarves and humans would trade, but were leery of each other and Elves kept to themselves. The Hobbits weren't known about by the other groups. The wizards were the only ones in contact with all of them.
