That's what I thought she was supposed be doing. Shadowing the 2 people pointed out to her. It's not their responsibility to get her to do that because they still have to get their work done.

If it's a graphics design job and she just graduated college, I'm going to assume her degree is in that field. Training would consist of learning the computer system. Not anything terribly difficult. Most likely her training was supposed to be her watching someone for a few days, asking questions, watching what was done. What's called shadowing. It sounds like instead of shadowing her trainer she decided to just sit at her desk doing nothing. That person had their own work to get done and it's never their responsibility to track down the person that's supposed to be shadowing them.

Not really. She was still in her probationary period. That means you can be fired without any reason. It's usually 3 months.

That's what this sounds like. The people saying "on boarding" and I'm like what's that? Every job I've had they told me "This person is going to train you" and I followed them around a couple of days and then I was on my own to ask if I didn't understand something. Now I see people saying they weren't allowed to do anything for 6 months and just had meetings everyday going over things they'd eventually do.
