@npcimknot958 You’re also showing you know nothing about other countries. 58% voter turnout isn’t low. It’s considered an extremely high voter turnout in the US at 52%. So everything you’re claiming about Japan and voting is false. The youth vote in the US is very small for the amount that could and that’s what makes the turnout percentages so low. It might appear it’s high to someone watching YouTube or TikTok videos. If you think an algorithm feeding you what you’ve told it you like to watch is an accurate portrayal of any country’s culture I feel sorry for you. Edit: It’s well know the Japanese don’t value art as much as some countries do. They don’t consider it real work. I’m sorry another county’s values hurts your feelings so much. As for your WWII comment, it just shows your ignorance even more. The Emperor wasn’t elected.

Gay and stuff isn’t viewed there like here. They generally frown on activism. A Muslim immigrant worker recently defaced a shrine and the population was not happy even though they aren’t very religious.

@bpregont He’s not attacking him for that. He’s attacking Jimmy because Jimmy supports the policies that make it how Jimmy is complaining about. If Jimmy had maybe said something like “Their policies are better than ours” rather than just point out the obvious it would be different.

This is the only comment talking positive about Japan that the one commenter hasn’t been all over talking about how wrong you are and how horrible Japan is.

Sort of. The prices thing was pretty brain dead. Also Jimmy’s not really pointing to the difference in policy or culture. Just one clean and one we should hate because it’s not.

@npcimknot958 Why aren’t you correcting the people that have lived there or have family there saying the same things?

@erics3538 I’d like to buy you a new keyboard. Your space bar seems to be malfunctioning. Ethnicity isn’t race. So I really don’t know why you’re having a conniption fit. Let’s take the French. If you’re not born in France, you’re not French. Even if your ancestors are French, you no longer are. You’re of French heritage but you’re not French. See, nothing about race at all. It’s just ethnicity which is cultural. So yes a shared a culture is extremely important to a harmonious country. Shared values, shared beliefs. Oh no, the horror of people getting along. Edit: It’s actually funny because you seem to understand but completely lose it. Japanese, Chinese, Korean, are all Asians, but different beliefs and cultures. It’s not racial.

I haven’t looked into it but sounds about right. It’s one of the reasons it’s so safe.

@npcimknot958 You sure love putting words in people’s mouth. Nobody said they want a utopia. You’re the only one here complaining at ANY compliment payed to Japan. If you live there and hate it so much leave. I’d suggest looking up what the word utopia means as in the root of it. It means not achievable. Why would want something defined as impossible?
