  2. Well, this show explains why their 10 years in the business of writing scripts never got picked up. Of course it's not because they are bad at it, it's all someone else's fault. With this mindset it's no wonder they don't understand Tolkien. You can read and love something, but not understand what makes it work.

  3. Tolkien fans can't like this series later because they've already destroyed the lore. There is none of it and what little they have nodded to, it was to destroy it. You can't fix that. You can't fix Galadriel if you're now making her an amazing archer too. They can't take back that Mount Doom was created by a stupid spillway instead of by Morgoth and that it erupted when Eru made the world round instead of flat to cut Valinor off from it after the Numenorens attack Valinor. They changed all of that to avoid mentioning gods which are key in any fantasy. They can't change that the Numenorens hate Elves because "muh jerbs" rather than because they envy their immortality because they've made Elves mortal so that Galadriel would want revenge and they could make Elves afraid they're going to die. Too much has been broken to fix to make it palpable to Tolkien fans.
