For those crying about Israel, this isn't coming from them. It's every country in the region. I guess I was one of the only ones that paid attention to the deal Obama made with Iran. It had them nuclear ready in 10 years. That's with oversight that they don't have anymore. It's pretty much right on schedule from when inspectors were going in. That's why it was bad outside releasing funds. It allowed them to increase enrichment just at a slightly reduced pace and allowed them to get and research long range missiles. Maybe people that weren't paying attention until recently need to learn a bit about what was going on for the last 12 years. They've launched satellites. They have space program. We ARE at risk you ignorant people.

@rickpat524 If we sell oil to other countries, we're not refining it into gas. You said to only use our own oil. If we only used our own oil it wouldn't go to the open market. There's only so much that can come out of the hole at a time. So yes, you're original comment was saying not to export oil. I'm not sure how you think this works, but even when we were drilling like crazy, if we used everything from here, we'd only export a small amount in the grand scale of the oil market. Our dollar is called the petro dollar for a reason. That's what's backing it. Oil and gas trade.

@CJ2808 These people crying "Trump betrayed us!" are beyond annoying. I guess they forgot he used the MOAB on a terrorist and took out a Russian airstrip. That's not getting into the drone strikes in Yeman and his recent bomb drop there. He's not a pacifist. I also know he won't put American lives at risk with boots on the ground, but he's also not going to risk a nuclear attack from a crazy leader that's sole drive has been to build up to that ability.

@coltfathwell6185 Depends on the refinery. There are quite a few that can take the stuff from here. The main thing now is more the stuff from the tar sands in Canada because it's so dirty. Generally speaking trade wise, they want to sell the good stuff and refine the cheap oil themselves because they'll make more. My husband works for Valero and my son for Philips 66 at refineries. My husband worked at a very old refinery, longest continously in operation in the US, and it and one in Texas are the only ones that can take really low quality dirty oil. They bought from local oil wells as well as have a pipeline that other small wells get shipped to them from. Edit: Due to regulations, there are very few that are "old af" anymore. They've had to update and upgrade to keep up with them. We are about to lose 3 refineries in California because they've been regulated to the point they can no longer be profitable so they're being shutdown.

You live in a fantasy land. We can not ignore foreign affairs. All those trade deals from the middle east that we just got trillions in investment from would turn to smoke. Do you want industry back? Then that requires a place to sell it to. Why would anyone make something and only sell it in the US to a population of 330 million when there's 7 billion to sell to?

It wouldn't even be just for Israel. I'm surprised how many are completely ignorant of Iran's capabilities. They have a space program and have launched satellites and research probes into space. They absolutely can reach the US. We can pretend when they chant "death to America" they don't really mean it even though the ruler has said multiple times they will attack as soon as they have one if we want to and cross our fingers. Per inspectors when the Obama deal was in place, being able to enrich to a percentage able to create one is right on schedule. Even a little behind. That said, I don't want US troops involved, but I have no problem letting another country do it and tipping the scales in their favor where able.

@Anglo_Iron This is not coming from Israel. It's coming from every country in the region from their own independent intelligence. Nobody wants a nuclear Iran because it puts the entire region at risk.
