  1.  @LizardOnAMushroom2358  It's not different and why do you think it would be somehow magically different than every other relationship you have with people? Your partner is just another person. They're not magically different outside of the type of commitment you make to one another. You're going to look for similar but slightly different things than just a friendship because it will involve children so you need to keep that in mind when choosing. I've been married 25 years. We make a conscious choice everyday to love each other. That's the first thing most people need to understand and that's that love is a choice. To give someone love or withhold it is a choice. Romantic love or "falling in love" is really just infatuation. It's not really love at all but mostly lust and superficial. If you go into a potential longterm relationship like marriage believing that's what love feels like it's doomed to failure. Edit: You look for someone that's strong in the areas you're weak in and you have to be humble enough to recognize you're weak in that area and allow them to handle it. That's why you have to really know, love, and accept yourself first. If you're still under the belief that you're perfect and know everything you'll never find someone. You have be able to let your pride fall away so you can truly work together to improve both your lives.
