Are you saying the government should be in charge of it? If people want to make bad choices, that's their right to do so. If a company sells things that are bad for people, they're aware it's bad for them ( everyone knows sugar, sodas, and processed foods aren't very good for you), and they buy it anyway the people have made their choice using the market.

@scallywag1716 I guess since they failed to make a strong enough case against the Amish farmer, that if they had their way would put USDA inspectors at every ranch and processor even if I'm picking my own cow or killed the deer myself and would have destroyed farmer's markets, so they got replaced. We really need a good case against the expansion of the commerce clause so Roberts finally gets his one wish while still on the court. It's been used way too freely as a way to expand government authority. Sorry, but as someone that hunts and buys directly from local farms and ranches that was going to directly impact a lot of people I know. Not to mention put farm fresh food even further out of reach expense wise for a lot of people.

I get it, but his stuff is scientifically proven and he wants people that need this to know that.

@albundy06 We lived without that being forced on goods until 1966. That's when ingredient labels became required. It's part of interstate commerce. If you buy from a farmer's market, there aren't ingredient labels because they aren't required on direct transactions between maker and consumer. Some print one and put on them and some don't and you have to trust they're being honest. The only reason all that regulation exists is for grocery stores because people were no longer able to interact with the producer of their goods. It was to increase trust in those products. It was never about what it's become. Edit: The baby formula shortage was a direct result of those labels. The agencies are so strict with how everything should be worded that it restricts smaller companies and imports from being available. So there are only 2 factories that produce them that can comply and one was shutdown due to contamination. Parents weren't able to buy and ship some in from overseas, even European countries, because their label of ingredients is listed slightly different.

I'm fine with some regulations in certain circumstances such as when it comes to certain goods like fresh meat and vegetables in grocery stores because the consumer has no way of knowing where or what farm it came from. The thing that needs to be gutted is the Commerce Clause. That's what they've used to expand their reach far beyond it's original intent.

@stevenscott2136 Because you could go to the farm growing your food. You were purchasing directly from the person that grew or made it. Large grocery stores is what caused a lot of these agencies to be created. It was to set a standard that the consumer could trust because that link between producer and customer was severed. I'm old enough to remember, and I'm not THAT old, when grocery stores were local and all the fresh food was grown close by. You couldn't buy fruits and vegetables out of season either. Now we import from Mexico and Canada out of season and your meat can be grown in those countries too. It was supposed to just set a standard so that no matter where it came from the consumer could trust it was of the same standard as they'd had from their local growers.

Not Congress because they represent their constituents. You may not agree with those constituents but they should still have a voice. Otherwise it's just a dictatorship. There are already plenty of those you could go live under.
