@aaronvessels There really isn’t competition and that’s part of the problem. Go look at what’s available to purchase and look at where it’s made. Trying to avoid purchasing from China is impossible. I don’t see how that’s somehow creating competition. China steals intellectual property constantly. They then mass produce a similar but very inferior product and I’m supposed to be grateful I get to end up spending more in the long run having to constantly replace it because they’ve driven out the good product? I really don’t think people fully grasp the situation. I’ve seen people have their designs stolen by Chinese companies. They’ve lost before they are even able to build up their business. China will not allow us to go after these companies so we’re supposed to do nothing as they steal every idea thwarting businesses here?

@jdtreharne Food is NOT the cheapest it’s ever been. Chicken is up almost 50%. My wage did not go up 50% therefore it’s NOT “the cheapest it’s ever been”. It does no good to build bigger houses if no one can afford to buy them. Especially since most people now no longer want McMansions and instead want houses smaller for less upkeep. In other words the market isn’t being driven by what the consumer wants.

The quality of goods have been dropping for decades. Sure it’s cheap but it also breaks quickly making it to where I don’t feel I got my money’s worth.

@TEGRIDY_FARMS If the consumer doesn’t buy it, less is produced, decreasing jobs and money flowing back into the US economy. It’s really not that hard. If you ONLY focus on half the market sure it doesn’t hurt.

8.1% of the workforce is in manufacturing today. 32% of the workforce was manufacturing in 1960. “Most manufacturing jobs ever!” Is a lie. On straight numbers maybe, but it’s a lie by statistics. Shame on you. Very disappointed to see you of all people employ such manipulative tactics. Edit: I knew it was when later you say it’s natural with innovation and increases wealth for these jobs to go away. You literally did “it’s not happening” and “it’s a good thing” meme.
