Why? The government could say no. If the government didn't bend over backwards to protect their political donations, the companies wouldn't do it. The government created the environment that allows the companies to do it in the first place.

Yes babies going hungry is an "inconvenience". When a woman's body stood producing breast milk, which happens after about 2 weeks or so of not feeding/pumping, they can't suddenly start producing again.

I don't know if it's changed since I used it 23 years ago, but you're not required to buy everything they offer and it was strictly income based, though higher amount than food stamps. It provides milk, beans, fruit juice, cereal, and several other things other than just formula. Mine were formula due to medications and health issues with me and I was on food stamps at the time because we were waiting on my husband's green card approval (I had to move back from Canada to care for my mother who was facing a 6 month surgery recovery and grandmother with breast cancer). Other than amount or price, I wasn't regulated to specific brands.,That was a bit before the WIC approved signs showed up in stores and when only certain stores took it.

Can we stop having this discussion over and over please? Women are encouraged, even looked down on, if they don't breastfeed. Not everyone can due to health issues, don't produce enough, etc. It's pushed by OBGYNs, hospitals, etc. There's no woman that has a baby or that's pregnant that isn't aware of the benefits of breastfeeding. Nobody needs to be educated on it, told about it, etc.

So babies born to mothers who can't breastfeed should just die? Wet nurses and high infant mortality was a thing for a reason. I couldn't because I had toximia and required medication. So my two sons should have just died, because either my milk would have poisoned them or they'd die of starvation. You're such a brave and great person.

I've seen them report use of them is up in the US, but more as away to say financially things aren't good and to increase donations because they are running low. Then again, the politicans know better than to try to push increase in welfare when the population is hurting because that's a good way to lose an election.

Say you didn't watch the video without saying you didn't watch the video. European imports are banned and the very limited amount that is allowed has a nearly 18% tariff attached. Shockingly not everyone has access to a Whole Foods or can afford that cost. So you're saying shut up and let your kids starve if you don't live in a city and aren't upper middle class.

They didn't shutdown by choice. They were shutdown, passed inspection within a week, and kept closed by the FDA for over a month. With the government being told by the CEOs what that would cause. Biden just admitted they told him that and he didn't think it would happen. So the government knew this was going to happen a long time ago and did nothing to offset the incoming problem. In fact, created a bigger problem by seizing formula and destroying it by customs. You can be upset at lobbying, but even that's still at the feet of the government for allowing political donations to drive regulations.
