I doubt that’s the case for people living near the front lines, which is where the man being interviewed was traveling. Most of it was medical equipment, clothing, and repair materials.

The only allowing 400 trucks a day and only having 2 lanes open is the issue. There will be security but it can be set up better so it’s not so bogged down.

If the government doesn’t just ignore it. You’ll find they don’t really bother with smaller towns. During Katrina and the Houston flooding, everything was about the big city and small towns that were hit harder were ignored except by people near those areas in other states. Both times my little town of 20,000 sent several semis full of supplies to those areas because they were ignored. During the winter storm that knocked out power in Texas, several places became inaccessible by road. It took a week for trucks to be able to start delivering again. The stores were empty and gas was almost gone. The government wasn’t trying to get supplies into us.

That’s not true. The UN has designated a humanitarian crisis and corridors are to be respected by both sides. Notice he’s driving an ambulance. That’s protected no matter what. Humanitarian aid isn’t mercenaries and aren’t designated as such. Mercenaries are armed and fighting, these people are not. If Russia is truly putting volunteers to death, they’ll answer for their crimes in the world court.

@guillermocortes3783 Shouldn’t have doesn’t matter because we did. We honor our agreements or we won’t be trusted in any agreement including trade ones. This idea that new administrations can just ignore past agreements is unbelievably ignorant. Every country would constantly be redoing deals every couple of years and it would cause huge financial crisis constantly.

No, but they sent donations for victims of Katrina all over the world instead of where it was supposed to. The Red Cross globally fills a need. It’s pretty much useless in natural disasters in 1st world countries. They come in and take over from local organizations and refuse material donations that don’t come from pre approved suppliers.

@bellaavgusta2258 If Nazis bother you so much why are supporting Russia which has half the entire world’s population of them and work within the government? Russians don’t even prosecute mass murders committed by them until the last couple of years and even then it’s very selective. Some groups are singled out as bad while others are protected. It depends on if they are tied into or support someone Putin trusts. Do you using that as a reason to support Russia over Ukraine just shows you are clueless. Poland still celebrates the German invasion because they viewed that as preferential to Russia. You don’t understand anything about that area at all.

My oldest son’s friend volunteered for a couple of months. He’s Ukrainian but his family immigrated to the US when he was young. He’s an EMT and is studying to be a doctor like his mother. He made it back safe and sound.
