@bvegannow1936 No it's not. It's far more complicated unless you only want to eat potatoes. It takes understanding what nutrients the plants need and what's available in the soil. You can have soil that is completely inadequate to growing food. You need to know and understand how different plants interact with one another, how much room they need, how they pollinate, and a ton of other stuff. For example, if you plant tomatoes in a spot one year, it's a good idea to plant beans there the next year. Tomatoes use a lot of nitrogen and beans replenish nitrogen in the soil. Tomatoes are self pollinating and produce the most if you gently shake them when blooming. Otherwise you'll get a tiny number of tomatoes if any at all. My family has been farmers for generations and it's their accumulated knowledge that allows me to be able to grow food. Edit: I'm not and will never be vegan. Human brains grew at a massive rate once we learned to cook meat and render the fat. Meat and animal fat are necessary for us to be healthy as a species. Just like a cat requires meat. We are not, and have never been herbivores.

@bvegannow1936 Rainfall collection only works in places that get a lot of rain. You have no idea what you're talking about. Humans require more than fruit trees and berries to survive and grow properly. Fruit trees do require maintenance because they get disease and insect infestations. I'll go tell my cousins that own a fruit farm they don't know what they're doing because some guy on YouTube watched a video. I'd research what happened when we removed a lot of native grasses on the plains and tried to turn it into farmland if I were you. It didn't turn out well. 1 billion people are starving because they don't have enough land that CAN be farmed and because supplying it as donations by other countries causes the local farming economy to crash making it not profitable and driving people away from it.

@theBear89451 Considering that's the only currently available nuclear power, of course that's what anyone would think. I was promised flying cars and time travel by now. Just because you WANT something to happen doesn't mean it will or that it's even possible. You never plan today for what might possibly become reality in my wildest dreams. You definitely don't base policy on it.
