  2. I've been laughing at all the claims this summer. It's an El Nino which always means an increase of a few degrees. Most affected are areas closer to coasts because it changes the flow of the Gulfstream causing it to flow through warmer waters. Everytime there's one, there's accompanying heat waves. The one in the 80s was particularly brutal because it coincided with a large draught meaning no rain to help reduce the temperatures so it just kept climbing. Where I was at the time in the Delta region it was 2 months of 110-115 days. It was far worse.

  3. Easily impressionable people don't shape the future. Risk takers do. Name a single easily manipulated person that had a big impact on the word. I'd be surprised if you can find one. What you do find are confident, self assured risk takers driving big changes. Sometimes for good, sometimes for worse, but it's not some easily manipulated impressionable person in the driver's seat.

  5. Unfortunately when the government is creating a hostile environment with over regulations to "fix the crisis" it directly impacts the ability for hard working people to keep moving forward.

  7. It gets worse. They then take the most extreme models that only a tiny fraction believe will ever happen and use those along with that agree poll. Truthful scientists will say when pressed hard, that those models are only used by politicians and not by them.

  8. Yes those millions of masks now in the ocean agrees with you. I liked how they talked about fish returning to an area was because climate change was miraculously less for a single year instead of that the noise drives fish away, but I guess fishermen don't know what they've said for hundreds of years. They'll tell you a single cool year doesn't disprove it while simultaneously claiming six months of less travel does. Edit: Since travel has been down since then and hasn't recovered to pre pandemic levels, why has "climate change" caused this hot summer? Why isn't stopping the war in Ukraine that's causing massive amounts of carbon to enter the atmosphere (far more than several years worth from the US and UK combined) the top priority at any cost?

  9. Absolutely. It's even worse right now because this administration has tied the results to the funding. It's in the public policy that if the research isn't going in the direction of the result they want, they'll pull funding. It's one thing to understand that pressure is underlying, it's something else entirely when they put it on paper.
