@thedealmama3070 Not if all they are is who they have sex with or what body parts they have. I'm afraid Tolkien didn't "represent" them in his works.

@ChaoticYak1 The Elves are an embarrassment and slap in the face to Tolkien's descriptions of them.

@austinhill5550 He didn't create one language. He created several. He was a linguist. It wasn't simple words like children do. He also didn't leave much open. The only place really left pretty much alone was the East. I'm going to assume by your comment that you haven't read The Silmarillion. In it, he maps out every character's linage, everything they did up until they're introduced into the other book, how each race came to be, how the world was created, the gods, why the world is how it is when LotR and The Hobbit starts, etc. Yes, he was and still is unmatched in world building. I've read enough King to know he builds off of what's already there. To even attempt to compare the two is laughable. Edit: Multiverse? That's not been claimed. At no point has anyone connected with this show claimed it's a parallel world or multiverse. The opposite in fact. They say blatantly it's taking place in exactly the same world Tolkien wrote. These are the same characters. Not different versions of them in another dimension. "This obsession with being 100% accurate to an author's vision..." You mean like Jackson did? Wrong work to attempt that card with.

They do that a lot if you pay attention. The Acolyte did the same thing.

The contract with the estate is 5 seasons. They have to make them. As one person said, they could make the last 2 seasons just Galadriel farting, but they still have to make and air it.

Because that's not her. Galadriel is running her own kingdom with her husband and has a daughter at this point in Tolkien's story. She is given one of the rings as she's the most powerful Elf. This is Guyladriel. Her husband is dead, she has no children, and she's clearly not well respected. Completely different character that Tolkien never wrote.

It's also completely different. Those are characters created to be how they are by the author. Everyone is bad in his books. It's also a case of power being attractive in HotD and Game of Thrones, and lots of debauchery. Tolkien's world is not like that in the slightest. Good and evil are very much a constant in Middle Earth.

@ChaoticYak1 Agree. StarWars was important to a few. Tolkien created an entire category of literature.

@bethanyh1637 Oh no! Leslie Headland said Acolyte was her best and most important work she's ever done. She absolutely took it seriously and believed it was amazing. She really thought it was terribly clever and smart.

@unrealuknow864 Except we don't. The numbers show that. Tolkien's books are just behind religious books in worldwide sales. I don't believe a couple billion people tuned in. We watch reviews. Some of which have the show with subtitles running in the background. They're far more entertaining.

@unrealuknow864 The vast majority don't watch it. You didn't watch the video. He clearly states it only retained a small percentage of its starting numbers.

If that is what they're hinting, the Tolkien community will explode. They'll destroy these people.

I don't believe he was married. I looked, and I'm correct. So that's from Shadow of War.

"We're representing so many groups in Rangs of Powah!" Except the one you're supposed to. The Tolkien and LotR fandom community.

Well, the one Elf did. He talked about how much he loved that people hated what he was doing. That's not a way to bring in the audience that made LotR the hit it is around the world. Not just the movies but the books.
