Of course that was with the second movie because he wasn't completely dog crap in the first one. That one was still holding him up as a major, powerful figure. The second one destroyed Luke. Now in Mandelorian they've got Luke and Leia torturing people when the resistance took control of the government. It wasn't enough to do what they did in the sequels, they had to take it to a whole new level and make the good people just as evil as the bad guys.

I'm going to bet this stems from Burton being originally over it. He'd demand they understand the characters. I wasn't aware she refused an Emmy nomination, but good for her being brave enough to say no that was a piece of crap.
