  2. ​ @kicknowledgesmith8608  From the comics: Bucky was given a Super Soldier Serum by Arnim Zola who created a serum bases on Dr. Erskine's original formula. It helped him survive a fall from a train and gave him enhanced physical abilities, similar to Captain America. He was indeed given the serum. Bucky was also Captain America from 2007-2011. Hardly "a few pages." Steve came back to the comics as Captain America the same year the first Captain America movie came out. It wasn't due to it being unpopular. It was because they were putting out the movie and having Steve as Captain America both in the comics and in the movie created sales. Just like when the concept of Captain America passing on the mantle to Falcon happened in the comics, a couple of years later Falcon and Winter Soldier went into development. The comic and movie side are owned by the same company.
