@mrjekyllandhyde9941 Almost since the reboot in 2005 they've been fairly clear the Doctor could be female. Donna was briefly the Doctor and when Matt regenerated as him he made the comment about being glad he hadn't become a woman. There were many times Riversong had to play the role because he was freaking out and even had to control the T.A.R.D.I.S. without him. This isn't a new idea. The roboot changed a lot of Doctor Who lore especially when they changed the history of Gallifrey in the special. To suddenly have an issue with him regenerating as a her because of the classic means you haven't paid attention. Most fans have no issue with a female. The writing is horrible and the multiple companions isn't allowing any connection. I didn't make it past the first season and I've been a fan since the 4th Doctor. As for adding a new 1st Doctor, I think that's ridiculous even though they added the War Doctor during the special. He however wasn't technically Doctor Who so it didn't interrupt the regenerations.
