That's not even getting into losing half their charge if the temperature isn't perfect. Anyone claiming they're exactly like gas powered is either lying or ignorant. It was tested. A person drove cross country in each, and the EV took almost twice as long. If I'm planning a vacation to Colorado to go skiing, I'd be better off renting a gas car if I own an EV. Edit: I could get into the resale issues that you don't have with regular cars, too. Another huge disadvantage people gloss over or ignore.
