@makhnothecossack4948 It's a result of them. When the government is responsible for the people's ability to survive through government programs, the government has to take as much money as it can. In this case, if the value is what the government sees as better than the average, they take the extra value away. It's twofold. It takes the monetary excess value away and makes it to where you don't want the advantage because you're punished to the point that it puts it out of reach monetarily. It's from guilt. They had something others didn't and are made, usually through education, to feel guilty for the privileges their ancestors worked for them to have. This is why you've seen a breakdown in the appreciation of standing on the shoulders of those who came before. Their work is made irrelevant because obviously they did something bad or participated in a bad system to get what they had that they were able to pass down and it was somehow at the cost of those they surpassed. It's a really odd way of looking at success. Instead of something to strive for, it's something to criticize. Edit: It's really twisted once you understand the guilt is to make sure they don't succeed so someone, most likely less educated or competent, can take their place in the hierarchy and power structure.

I do not know how he got re- elected after it had been proven he stole the people's money. It's insane. There was a lady saying he was going to fight climate change because of the floods. Floods that occur about every 100 years or so. I asked her how he was going to stop China and India. There's no way they're going to do anything he demands. I told her he can increase taxes and say he's doing something he clearly has no power to do or he can invest in engineering projects to prevent the damage that will come again in about another 100 years. If he doesn't use the money to do the latter then he's just telling you what you want to hear to take your money.
