  1. A live debate is really little different than a trial by jury. If your explanations are too scientific and long, the jury zones out and doesn’t understand. If the evidence against the person isn’t easy to understand than it comes down to who can give the better emotional arguments or spin the best. It’s why you’ll see people convicted with zero evidence and people found not guilty with lots of evidence against them. I’ve watched trials and still don’t understand how they were convicted when the evidence presented by the prosecution refutes the claims of the prosecution.
