@UnhingedJessie That's why the voter roll purges are so important. You can't have more votes than registered voters. Doing that makes what you're talking about impossible to do.

There was huge enthusiasm gap last time too.

Honestly? At this point, it's highly unlikely. She has to take every swing state except one if she takes Pennsylvania. If Trump takes Pennsylvania, it's pretty much an automatic win for him or 2 other swing states.

Independent is heavy in favor of Trump. It's at about 60% support.

The immigration issue is going to keep a lot from voting. They're very upset about what's happened in big cities because they've enjoyed immunity from it until now. They can't bring themselves to vote Orange man bad, so just won't vote.

She's obviously going to take New York. The question is by how much. Considering the governor race was pretty close, most likely not by as much as people think.

@pubcle Thank you! Everyone focuses so much on federal races they don't realize state and local governments directly impact their lives much more.

@chillchinna4164 Clinton served 2 terms. Bush Sr was who only served one. Which a VP being elected is unusual in the first place. That's not the norm. VP is where politicians go to have their political career end. Edit: Which is why I've always thought them putting in Kamala was to get her out of the way for 2028 to save the best contenders for that race.

The endorsements for Trump this time are wild. From Unions to Muslim leaders in Michigan. Meanwhile Dems are just trotting out celebrities that nobody cares what they think anymore.

There is roughly half a million registered poll watchers this election on the Republican side. Plus, they've been busy taking over key positions in the last 4 years on election committees and such. Before Democrats even knew what was happening, they'd taken over 1,000 key positions. That's why a lot of the fortification from last time has been undone.

With Trump up in the early vote in a lot of places, including Portland (?!), it's going to come down to election night. If there's the usual mass turnout of Republicans that night, then it's over. However, if there isn't because they early voted, it's going to be a nail bitter. Basically, if the voting lines are like usual election day, it'll be clear very early who wins without a single vote from that night counted. Edit: The current question is, is this a new pattern for Republican voters or a different group of voters? Independent voters (like me) are also voting heavy Trump. Which means the swing vote (again me) goes to Trump. Independent voters are usually who determines elections.
