@terrycrews1760 It stays viable in the air for up to 3 hours. It's been found in the vents of isolation rooms that held patients in Canada. Yes you can catch it from walking through it and breathing it in. Maybe you should do a bit more research.

You realize a lot of diabetics have to check their blood several times a day and can't manage that. I don't have that much faith in my fellow man. There are crazies that spread this intentionally.

@Havanorange The ban went into effect Feb. 2nd. No one knew until Dec 31st and even then China was downplaying it. One person left the team in China and 1 person got fired from the pandemic team. The rest quit or moved into other branches still dedicated to...pandemic readiness. As for pressuring China, that's what we pay WHO for. It's their job. It's not like our relationship with China hasn't been strained since they started building those islands to take control of shipping lanes.

@TyrellWellickEcorp Your own last statement contradicts pretty much every claim you make. You claim we can't know God's intentions, yet claim to know with 100% certainty that He didn't create life anywhere but on a single planet. Since God never says that, you are claiming to know the mind of God. Your reasoning is since He didn't say anything about it then it must be how I perceive it to be. So which is it? He told you 100% everything or He didn't. I know He didn't, so I am willing to not let my own ego decide what is and isn't possible.

@explicitreverberation9826 I said ceremonial burials. Civilization is when we stopped roaming and settled areas. Ceremonial burials occurred before civilation took place. I'm thinking English must not be your first language because you put a whole lot into my comment that wasn't there. I never said apes and chimps in the past did this. I said it has been observed. We weren't observing animals and studying their behaviors until recently. They have been observed in the wild building alters type structures. That means they too most likely have ceremonies. You seem to not understand what ceremony means either. It doesn't imply organized religion. Ceremonies can be done out of respect, like the ceremonies performed for new leaders or upon the death of one. They can also be done as a show of affection such as an engagement. Religion isn't a part of it. They are separate things. No I don't believe in the ancient alien theory. It is just as likely to be us after we discovere time travel. Just because I think it is ridiculous to discount the statistical probability that there is intelligent life elsewhere doesn't mean I believe they have or are travelling here. Especially that they in someway created humans since there is zero benefit to them.
2
@explicitreverberation9826 I didn't say smartest, I said most educated. You call me an idiot, yet your reading comprehension is terrible. You don't know the difference between your and you're, half your sentences are nonsense because they aren't even sentences by the loosest definition, you attack my name which I haven't seen since elementary, and now you're basically trying to say "I know you are" or "I'm rubber and you're glue" like some petulant child on the playground. I'm not the one that couldn't come up with an intelligent reply and decided acting like a 5 year old was a better tactic. I wouldn't have to use paragraphs if you had a better grasp of the English language.

@computerbiscuit No scientist worth their salt believe there isn't life somewhere out there. Life started here from bacteria from asteroids. Asteroids still contain these simple life forms. Bits of Earth isn't flying off creating these asteroids so they came from a planet that got broken up. That means it was somewhere else first.
2
Would you rather him say something definitive that turns out not to be doable? How about stop asking the same question over and over expecting a different response.
2
@gxtmfa We also have fewer cases, have flattened the curve much better, and naturally have social distancing. I live in a county of 50,000. We have 17 cases. We increase by like 3 a week. We'll soon be seeing the number recovered be more than the active cases. There's no reason for us to keep extreme measures for very long. Should a state like Alaska stay in total lockdown when they have no new cases just because New Orleans, New York, or Pennsylvania does?
2
I'm getting tired of repeating this. It wasn't known until Dec 31st. Stop saying we should have done something in December. December was over when the doctor finally blew the whistle.
1
Because there's nothing that says that would make any difference. Not a shred of data. I trust actual medical experts that don't try to get you buy something they are selling or own stock in.
1
I should not have laughed as much as I did at that.
1
@jasonhighlander Do you honestly believe that? There are live videos of them all over YouTube and no accents.

@hunterglaspell5580 I'm getting the feeling you aren't up on all we know scientifically and what is being worked on at this time. Life on other planets isn't "faith", it's a statistical certainty. Life started here from organisms on asteroids. Those organisms came from somewhere else. We know, now, that asteroids can travel from one galaxy to another. So life on other planets is pretty much guaranteed. Intelligent life is also a high probability. Since we know the asteroids didn't come from our solar system, that means life started outside it. Most likely piggybacking it's way spreading as it obviously did in our own solar system as Mars also had life at one point. As for we can't travel at the speed of light. We can now stop and restart a beam of light with information attached to it without loss of information. That's a step away from teleportation. Scientists are also working on a wormhole and warp drive. This is all current ongoing research. I'm not saying this is alien at all, but to act like we're the only intelligent life in all of space or that a civilization can't be further along than ours is just not supported by the science we know today.
1
@hunterglaspell5580 I'm not speculating how life began on Earth. That is the current accepted scientific theory. It will remain so until disproven. Finding the same organisms on Mars that are found on asteroids pretty much confirms it. Where that life came from originally is not known due to our current technological restrictions, and we may never know for sure.
1
@thankuslay6766 It doesn't. France has like 4000 documented military encounters, Russian astronauts have claimed to see them, Mexico says they are around an island there, they were in Iraq, etc.
1
How could we act in December when China didn't announce it until December 31st? Can I have your crystal ball? I don't know why you brought up Obama other than an attempt to make his failure during a pandemic look better. Here's a news flash. We could always have done better. That's how you learn what works and what doesn't. Dr. Fauci has stated that several times so I don't understand this pathological need to keep making him repeat it.
1
Except Dr. Fauci has repeatedly said that the response can always be better. You have to see what is effective and learn from each experience so you get better every time.
1
@adastrajane As a woman why should I expect to be treated differently on a debate stage? If that offended your sensibilities they'll be destroyed when she sits across the table from adversaries from another country. Muslim countries will treat her poorly because she's a woman so she and you better learn to deal. Her prosecution record is not good either. She denied releasing inmates for free labor. I think there's a word for that, but it slips my mind.

I live in a red state and we're doing fine with the virus and economically. It helps when your governor doesn't put positive patients into nursing homes. Amazing how much lower the death toll is. By the way, the WHO has recommended that every country stop lockdowns immediately because they are killing more worldwide than the virus will.
1
They are doing that. I guess you missed where Dr. Fauci was discussing talking with individual states about this. I guess you also missed an earlier news conference that the rapid tests were going to go to the states that had the virus under better control to help with even better containment so they can get rid of some restrictions sooner.
1
So 56% of the population according to recent polls?
1
Other places with Chinatowns aren't fairing well so I doubt that has anything to do with it. Nice attempt to praise the country responsible for all this though.
1
@joetorres9892 I'm in one of the last states to get the virus. I've been isolated for a month. Your timeline doesn't add up. I'm looking back at news articles from early March talking about social distancing. I see some warning about stopping it in late March. Time had an article explaining what it means on March 11th. On March 15th there's one talking about how people are dealing with it. Trump extended social distancing at the end of March. So social distancing was being discussed in late February to early March. Group size was limited to 10 or less on March 16th so obviously we were talking about it and were encouraged to do it before then. The 13th was 50 or less and I know 100 or less was almost a week before that. I also know in New York when everyone else was doing 100 or less, they were told 500 or less. Don't remember if it was the Governor or the Mayor, but I knew that wasn't social distancing. Then again I didn't need an expert to tell me I'm high risk or to isolate.
1
A lot of people are still working. So too late.
1
Telling everyone she was going to go to war Russia in the last debate didn't help. You probably missed that though.
1
There are 2 strains not 3. It has a slow mutation which means it was in China long before that poor Dr. rang the warning bell. The idea isn't to save everyone's life forever. It's to keep the cases numbers low enough to not completely overwhelm hospitals. When that happens, you become Italy where you have to decide who is most likely to survive with medical intervention. That doesn't only apply to Covid-19 patients, but to every patient that needs medical attention. Accident victims, shootings, heart attacks, etc. I guess you could just let everyone die, but the cost to the mental health of doctor and nurses would be tremendous, not to mention bankruptcies for hospitals from all the lawsuits.
1
He said South Korea had the ability to lock it (the virus) down. Not the city.
1
And every election too, but shhhhh they think nobody knows.
1
I'm sorry. I guess Democrats are great at pandemics. Whoops, no they aren't. 61 million got H1N1 with the majority being in round 2. That's okay he replaced the stockpile afterwards. Whoops again! No party is good at anything. Only individuals.
1
@TyrellWellickEcorp First, your statistics are off. 80% are explained, 20% remain unexplained. Why would God create all those demons? And why would God create all those other galaxies and planets? In case we got bored? How egotistical we humans are to believe that He only created us. No where does the Bible say that or imply it.
1
@explicitreverberation9826 First, that wasn't a "fight". That is called debate. Secondly religion and ceremony existed before civilization. We know this because even Neanderthals have been found buried in ceremonial positions. Animals, especially apes and chimps, have been observed building small alters as well. I'm not sure why you chose me to single out in your comment since I'm arguing against beliefs founded in organized religion.
1
@explicitreverberation9826 I am and went to school with several others with my same first name. You obviously are very uneducated if you think someone being named Debbie is odd.
1
@explicitreverberation9826 Deborah/Debra is a common name. Debbie/Debby is the short version like Nick is short for Nicholas. If you rely on only school for your educational needs, it explains a lot.
1
@explicitreverberation9826 You showed your lack of intelligence with a personal attack on of all things my name. This isn't 1st grade. I said you were obviously not well educated to think my name is uncommon. I'm not sure why you think education only occurs in school. I'm Gen X. The most educated generation. Hardly "old school", and far from a librarian, though I'm not sure why knowledge of books is supposed to be an insult. I'm also fairly certain you didn't name yourself anymore than I did. So again, an incredibly immature and unintelligent attempt at an insult. You only continue to make my points for me. Good job.

It's too early to cheer Sweden yet. Other countries tried that too, but it didn't work.
1
OMG! China gave great warning! China tried to hide it and imprisoned the doctor for reporting it. Then refused to allow WHO or anyone else in. They lied about the numbers and we know now almost everything they said about it was wrong. Doesn't infect the young, wrong. Mainly only kills the elderly, wrong. People on antimalarial drug immune, wrong (that's the latest one). They sent faulty tests and bad equipment to "help" countries like Italy and Spain. China knows wet markets are ripe for developing these types of viruses yet refuses to close them. This is the result. Every single death is blood on China's hands. Every. Single. One. I can not believe that you are trying to change history by blaming this on the US and Europe. We can see the DNA in the virus. We know where it came from. We also know the first case wasn't 3 months ago. It mutated in China which and has a slow mutation rate. That means it was there more than 3 months ago. I hope all these deaths are worth it. The world won't forget no matter how much disinformation you try to spread.
1
@Hicken8r I find any of those concerning. These tic tacs can become invisible at will, have unfettered access to all air space, we can't defend against them because they out run and out maneuver anything currently known, and per France are weapons capable.
1
@cathyhuffman3359 You are correct. It has been the go to including the show The Cosmos. In February of this year a study trying to see if an impact would actually end all life proved it. It showed that life would go up into the atmosphere and fall back, thus beginning again. It also showed that .004% was scattered into the solar system and beyond. While that's a small amount, thousands if not millions of impacts have occurred since life began 3.5 billion years ago.
1
You are an idiot. If it was in our flu shot why did it start in a wet market in China? By the way, several flu strains are coronavirus. That's just the shape of it.
1
Social distancing was put in place before spring break. I'm in one of the last states to have a case. It hit here the week before ours. A lot ignored it and Florida didn't shut down the beaches, but it was against recommendations.
1
@wonderfuljeanie2501 The oldest video was from 2004.
1
Then don't take it and live off the grid in wilderness. You'll be safe from it and, more importantly, we'll be safe from you.
1
There are recent studies that support that. When almost 25% of cases are asymptomatic, wearing a face covering of any kind will help slow the spread.
1
Nope. Anyone that votes based on letter or color by a person's name is an idiot.
