@saidakh1534 Because they were tested and found to have XY. Therefore, they're a man. That's how chromosomes work. If a chromosome is defective, that doesn't mean they aren't still male.

@TheExitStrategy My comment got deleted so I'll try again. In sports there is no male only category. Meaning anyone like that can compete in what's called regular competition instead of the female only. So the idea anyone is preventing them is ridiculous on its face. Edit: Pretty simple. Y chromosome, you complete in regular sports. No Y, you can compete in women's category. We had strict cutoff for testosterone for decades due to steroid use. No excuses permitted. Now suddenly we're supposed to give everyone the benefit of the doubt because reasons.

Don't forget the Russian swim team with mustaches.

@TheExitStrategy I'm honestly laughing at how far we're going to keep from calling a defective male or female defective and instead try to classify them as the other. Except that doesn't happen with women. Nobody sees a woman who didn't develop her female organs and go "well technically she could be male, so we should call them that." For research purposes and helping prevent the defect, it's important. Outside that role, it isn't. It's just a defective male that failed to develop properly. But rather than allow them to deal with the limitations that presents, we're calling them female so they aren't limited. A defective male can just be a woman so their feelings. It's so insulting. Edit: That's misogyny. Not "a man was mean to me" misogyny. Real misogyny.

@romamoran1337 Sorry, being a defective male doesn't make you a woman. It just makes you a defective male. Just like a woman born without all her female organs doesn't make her a man, a man born without all his male organs doesn't make him a man. It's amazing to me how far we're willing to go to just not acknowledge defects occur.

@JamesJones-zt2yx See my comment. It just makes them a defective male. Defects occur in every species on Earth. We simply call them defects instead of trying to make them feel better and say they're really not. They're just something else entirely.

They banned Russian athletes for it just a couple of games ago. They can't follow their own standards anymore.

@TheExitStrategy It's been stated one of them developed female genitalia, but has no female reproduction organs and two internal testes. That would make them male. Without female reproduction organs, they aren't making estrogen and are only producing testosterone by their internal testes. Even by your definition, they're male. Edit: Also when it comes to sports, there's no male only category. Meaning people like that can compete with males even if they "identify" as female.

There were transgender women in Tokyo. One was a weight lifter. So using that as a reason, when rules were changed because women were getting seriously injured, is ridiculous.
