@Wheeler63 My oldest took out a loan but paid it back quickly. The youngest went for free on music scholarships. He went to whatever college gave him the most. He’d worked hard to be one of the best in the country because he knew it was a ticket to higher education. Now they’re both going to have to pay for people with higher degrees that will make more than them in their lifetime. Utter bs.

@RestrictedFilms Meanwhile you’re calling 20 and 30 year olds “Boomer” like a 12 year old. You’re a sad individual with A LOT of daddy issues you need to work out. Making a fool of yourself on the internet isn’t going to do that.

@manny3712 No I don’t. “Helping” irresponsible people isn’t helping. It’s being nice instead of kind. You sound like the really brainless people that say just give homeless people a home. You don’t understand or care about the long term consequences. Not only for society as a whole but also the people you’re “helping”. It’s such an awesome unbelievably utopian concept of how anything works. You’re also talking to people who don’t want billions going overseas so that entire premise is crap. Forgiving debt also has nothing to do with national security like the wall does. Yes it’s expensive and this will only make it more so because it removes the small last hurdle that kept it slightly in check. Making it worse on the whole to benefit the few, very few because most debt is held by people with degrees like the woman Biden highlighted not undergraduates, is never ever good for society. Giving an even bigger leg up to the top 3-4% , that’s based on what they’ll earn with master degrees and above over their lifetime, is “helping” how exactly. List how it benefits the people now being forced to take on that debt. Edit: I care about helping Americans that earn it. Somebody that makes $100,000+ a year on their own because of the education that teachers sold them (it’s their labor and the cost of their degrees that factors into the cost of education) is perfectly capable of paying that debt. They don’t need help. Since you’re so worried about helping Americans wouldn’t that be better spent helping mentally injured service members get the treatment they need from the damage caused by what the government had them do, off the streets, and become productive members of society than go to someone who doesn’t need it at all but just wants it? Since you’re all about either or there’s one for you chew on.

@RestrictedFilms Utter bs. If he “stripped” you naked and threw you out at 17 how did he also force you to attend college? He can apply for a loan like that all he wants to. It’s not taken out until YOU physically go to the college the loan was taken out for, enroll, and attend classes for the first 2 weeks. You can drop out in that time period and face no financial consequences. You’re just trying to 1 get people to feel sorry for you. 2. Project your lack of a spine onto millions of other people. 3. Not take any responsibility for any decision you’ve ever made. You’re literally admitting you’re a doormat incapable of living on your own and trying to pretend that’s a positive thing and play helpless. Nope. Once you’re 18 legally there’s absolutely nothing your parents can “force” you to do. Rather than stand up for yourself and make your own way you CHOSE comfort. That’s a decision you and you alone made. Edit: The after Obama crap doesn’t work either. Both my sons, all their friends except one who’s a lazy bum, and my nephews and niece are all successful. Most of them married, a couple with children, own their own houses, and are younger than you. None of them had “connections” or anything like that. Especially since almost all, except the bum, come from poor families in a rural area. Go have your pity party on your own time.
