  2. @@ucomaco I'm sorry but the President appoints the chair. That is currently Janet Yellen. Yes they are indeed responsible. It's unusual that something is done without the President's approval on important matters like printing millions or changing the definition of in circulation which is what happened. Edit: In case it's not clear, Yellen is over the FED and was appointed by Biden. She's who's on TV telling you she's increasing the interest rate to try to offset inflation. Nixon wanted cheap money and authorized mass printing which is what caused the mass inflation in the 70s.
