Taking just that part of the phrase out makes it have a completely different meaning than when it's the entire phase. Just like that one, it was probably part of a longer phrase and just that part was taken out changing the entire meaning.

  9. ​​ @Man-vs-Metal  Why? Many CEOs and owners of large corporations are over that age. Why do people seem to think you become magically stupid at the age of 65? Because that's the age Social Security allows you to collect benefits? All it tells me is you've had very limited interaction with people in that age range, or your interaction has been limited to nursing homes where they're put because they are ill. Go hang out in any senior living community. You'll see many are full of energy and life and just as intelligent as they've always been. Dementia doesn't even start showing up until 70-79 in most cases. It's also not true that everyone gets it. Only 1.7% get it by the age of 74, 13.1% at 84, and 37.4% over 85. Meaning the majority don't get it. Edit: Every society until recently has understood the elderly have gained wisdom and understanding from living a long life. Now we treat them like they're disposable and somehow really young people have a wisdom that's impossible to obtain at that age.
