  2. ​​ @TheRadioAteMyTV  Welfar isn't a right. The reason for education is because they purchase things in the area so pay taxes that pay for it and should have access based on that. The only thing that's a right that they're given is when it comes to the judiciary. Search and seizure, a lawyer, 5th Amendment, etc. Edit: Legal permanent residents get full rights except to vote. Even the 2nd applies. My husband was one for 20 years and being Canadian the first thing he did when he got his green card was buy a gun.

You got to the DMV with your old ID, show them your marriage certificate, and they issue you a new one with your married name. To work, you would have already submitted and received a new Social Security card with your marriage name and old number on it. Is he mansplaining?
